large portion of the equipment is alpine (downhill) ski related -
including boots, poles, bindings skis, gloves, clothing and accessories.
The portion of snowboarding
equipment has continued to grow as boarding has increased in popularity
and now is almost as large as the alpine skiing portion.
The selection of cross country and telemark equipment continues
to expand and is expected to increase again this year. Equipment
and clothing is available for all sizes and ages. Children’s
gear and clothing is the fastest to go, for best selection, early
arrival on Saturday is recommended.

else is available? A number of Ski Areas, cat skiing guides, ski shops and
businesses set-up booths in the Vendor Fair building at the SWAP. Some
of the areas will be selling season passes and taking season pass
pictures.
Are
there experts there to help educate? What
if I’m a beginner? In addition to experienced skiers and snowboarders from the
Lookout Pass and Silver Mountain Ski Patrols, representatives from
retail shops will be at the SWAP to answer questions, help fit boots,
and provide advice and recommendation.
How
many years has this been going on?
This is the 9th Annual Winter Swap.
Where
does the money go? Money generated by the Swap is divided between the Lookout Pass
and Silver Mountain Volunteer Ski Patrols. Both patrols are affiliated
with the National Ski Patrol and are IRS 501(c)3 non-profit
organizations.
