I, the undersigned, agree that all items entered in the Winter Swap with this form are owned by me, and may be sold at the price listed on this form and each registration tag as set by me.  I attest to the fact that I am of legal age and can enter this legal consignment agreement.  Item tags can be picked up beginning October 24th at local ski shops and merchandise must be tagged as specified in our “Tagging Instructions” (Separate page).  Public check in for your items will be at the North Idaho Fairgrounds in building (#3) on Friday November 6th  from 3 PM to 8 PM.  A 20% sales commission will be deducted from every item sold during the swap.  “Straight” alpine/downhill skis are not being accepted for consignment at the Winter Swap as they do not sell well.

It is further agreed that all items not sold and/or checks for sold items, must be picked up Sunday morning (day after swap) November 8that the fairgrounds between the hours of 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon.  For any merchandise item not picked up the seller agrees to pay a $5.00 per day storage and handling fee.  Any items left for more than 7 days will be forfeited by the seller and sold at any price by the Winter Swap to cover storage and handling fees.  Please make a copy of this completed agreement for your records.  You will receive a receipt at check in for the swap items entered, and will need to present it on Sunday to pick up your unsold merchandise and/or a check for sold Items.

Tagging Instructions

The tag/labels we are using have a barcode on them that we will use to check your items into the Swap, sell your items on Saturday, and check any unsold items out of the Swap on Sunday.  These tags are similar to ski lift tickets and have a self-adhesive back.  They can be attached to any non-removable part of the item that has a hole or loop with the metal wicket provided and the adhesive tag folded over the wicket.  This works well applied to metal zipper pulls on clothing, metal bales on boots and bindings or any permanently attached device that has a hole or loop that you can thread the wicket thru.

We are recommending that no items below $3 be entered into the swap.  Also, please note that we will no longer be accepting “straight” downhill skis because of their poor sales performance.  We will have a lane at public check-in Friday Nov. 6th for those of you that have your Customer agreement form completed and your items pre-tagged properly.  See the Agreement form for exact times and location.  For problems or questions email: admin@Winterswap.org

Skis:  You can separate the tag at the perforation in the middle and apply each half with the same bar-coded number directly to each ski at the shovel end with the adhesive backing.  You also can use clear wide packing tape to apply the tag parts to the ski for easier removal after the sale.  It works well to use a heavy rubber band to hold the skis together which allows the buyer to check out the bases.  Do not tape the skis together so that the bases can be examined and make sure there is half the tag on each ski with the bar code easily visible.  Remember, no “straight” alpine/downhill skis will be taken on consignment due to the fact that they do not sell well.

Snowboards:  You can apply the tag directly to the board with the adhesive backing or tape it on with the wide clear packing tape.  The tape must be clear so we can scan the barcode effectively.

Boots:  Apply the tag with a wicket thru a non-removable bale or lace eyelet.  Boots need to be tied together with 24 to 36 inches of heavy twine like material to allow the public to try them on and be able to walk in them, yet secure them together.  If you don’t have the twine, we can do this at check in.  Do not use cable ties to join the boots.

Clothing:  Articles with an open weave such as sweaters and ski hats can have the wicket threaded thru the weave close to a strong seam and attached.  We discourage two-piece clothing and cannot be responsible for them without both pieces be tagged and priced independently.  You can connect the items for sale but there is no guarantee that they will not get separated and/or be sold together.  We have found that used gloves and hats do not sell well because of the abundance of new ones.  If selling gloves you must cable tie the two matching gloves together in a permanent loop so they cannot be separated.

Poles:  will need to be tapped together with filament tape and the wicket tag connected permanently to the basket or handgrip.

Bindings:  We do not accept bindings independent of skis and snowboards unless they are temporarily mounted together on a single board and tagged with the wicket.  Any small parts need to be triple bagged/sealed and attached with a cable tie to the bindings.  We do not allow items in boxes even if they are new, as they will become separated on examination.
